Emasys Corporation

Emasys Corporation was founded in 2003 by two long time Silicon Valley executives, Larry Roffelsen and Dean Frazier. Their combined 30 plus years of executive management experience in engineering, operations and marketing had taught them the value of accurate forecasting and need for good opportunity management.

They believed that many business processes could be better understood and managed if data was available and properly analyzed. They decided to leverage their experience with using simulation tools for predicting semiconductor performance, to develop solutions for business. The term "business intelligence" captured their view of what was needed to be successful in a highly competitive environment. Their first focus was on providing a solution to aid companies that were developing new products to better understand the costs and potential return on investment before committing to the project.

They incorporated Monte Carlo methods to deal with the large number of variables associated with this broad analysis. After developing a prototype of their first product, ReveX™, they decided that the best way to deliver this type of solution to make it on-demand and available on the Internet. After getting introduced to Salesforce.com it was clear to them that creating SaaS solutions for the Force.com platform was the best way to deliver their first commercial products.

Today, Emasys has two products available on the Salesforce AppExchange: SureCast a sales forecast and opportunity management application and SureCheck an opportunity status analysis application. Down the road, expect to see more simulation based applications and support for other CRM platforms.

Our Products: SureCast and SureCheck

All of our current products use modeling and Monte Carlo simulation to predict opportunity close dates, confidence in close dates and confidence-interval revenue forecasts. They run only on the Salesforce.com platform, and are available through the Salesforce AppExchange.

Larry Roffelsen

Founder, CEO

Larry has over 30 years of electronics, semiconductor and software industry experience. Prior to founding Emasys in 2003, he held executive management positions with several Silicon Valley and international firms, including VP of Engineering positions at California Devices, Chips and Technologies, Inc. and TeraLogic, Inc., VP of ASIC Operations at Fujitsu Microelectronics, Inc. and Chief Operating Officer at Chameleon Systems.  Today, Emasys' products based on Monte Carlo simulation and statistical analysis reflect his vision of applying science to solving difficult business prediction problems.

Larry  received a BSET degree with honors from Purdue University.

 

Dean Frazier

Founder, VP Sales and Marketing

Dean combines a strong background in technology development with a pragmatism founded on lessons learned from real-world projects at leading-edge companies. Before co-founding Emasys, Dean was VP of Marketing at HPL Technologies. Prior to HPL, Dean was VP of IC Engineering & Operations at Chameleon Systems. He has held several executive and engineering positions at Chips & Technologies and Seattle Silicon, and holds a U.S. patent on circuit design techniques for module compilation software.

Dean holds a BSCE from Stanford University.

 

Bruce B. Schupp

Staff Consultant, Sales and Marketing

Bruce is a veteran of many venues for the growth of technology in business. Working as a consultant in Silicon Valley, he has substantial experience in program management, market research and has often served as advisor to CEOs of startup companies. Prior to becoming a consultant, Bruce served as a senior marketing manager at AMD, marketing communications manager at Fujitsu Microelectronics and in various leadership and advisory positions in the semiconductor and financial services industries.

Bruce holds a BSBA from the University of Phoenix and an MBA from San Jose State University.
